On March 4, the kick-off review meeting for the Beijing Municipal Social Science Foundation project "Research on the Pathways for Coordinated Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry Chain in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region under the Carbon Neutrality Goal" was successfully held online. The review panel consisted of Researcher Wei Houkai, Member of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Researcher Zhang Xian of the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21; Professor Song Malin, Vice President of Anhui University of Finance and Economics; Professor Li Jinkai of the School of Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology; Professor Li Gucheng, Dean of the College of Economics and Management, Huazhong Agricultural University; Professor Zhang Yuejun, Party Secretary of the Business School, Hunan University; and Professor Yang Shengli, Dean of the School of Energy and Mining Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing (CUMTB).

Professor Cui Ximin, Vice President of CUMTB, attended the meeting and delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He stressed that the university has always been guided by the major strategic needs of national energy development and has developed distinctive strengths in the energy field, and that the Beijing Municipal Social Science Foundation project approved this time is an important reflection of the university's cross-disciplinary integration of its advantageous disciplines in service of the high-quality development of the capital. On behalf of the school, Professor Yang Shengli extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and presented the school's research achievements in the fields of energy and mining disciplines. The opening session of the meeting was chaired by Professor Fan Jingli, Vice Dean of the school, and the review session was chaired by Researcher Wei Houkai. More than 10 faculty members and students from the School of Energy and Mining Engineering and the School of Management attended and exchanged views.

In his kick-off presentation, Associate Professor Wang Bing, Principal Investigator of the project, systematically introduced the overall framework of the research on coordinated development of the hydrogen energy industry chain in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and explained key modules including assessment of hydrogen production potential, analysis of regional resource constraints, optimization of cross-regional transmission and distribution networks, coordination mechanisms for the industry chain, effects of policy instruments, and compatibility between cost-effectiveness and carbon emission reduction targets. The aim is to explore, through multi-dimensional analysis, a high-quality clustered development path for the hydrogen energy industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region from the perspective of regional coordination. After hearing the presentation, the expert panel fully affirmed the project's theoretical value and practical application prospects and provided academic guidance on the research content.

The successful convening of this review meeting not only clarified the project's research plan but also provided a high-level academic exchange opportunity for the school's faculty and students, effectively promoting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the field of energy systems engineering.
